Katherine began her career as a nurse and it is her caring demeanour and commitment to personalising each treatment she gives, coupled with her extensive knowledge of alternative therapies, which has earned her endless column inches in titles such as Vogue and Harpers & Queen.
Katherine entered the beauty industry 37 years ago as a student at London’s College of Fashion and Beauty. She then made her debut with Max Factor in India where she introduced the mini-spa concept to therapists and boasted many Bollywood stars as clients.
It was while in India that Katherine discovered the ancient healing art of Ayurveda that awoke in her a deep passion for complementary therapies, encouraging her to study in Chinese medicine, Shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and reflexology.
After many years owning large salons throughout London, Katherine has downscaled to an intimate one-room salon in South Kensington where she is in vast demand from clients here and abroad.
Her extensive knowledge of holistic therapies, massage and complementary medicine ensure that no treatment she performs is the same. Katherine Jackson recently appeared on Living TV’s Extreme Makeover. She contributed Reiki Healing on the show. http://www.livingtv.co.uk/extrememakeover/thanks.html
She says, “People may come into my salon for a manicure and then decide they want a facial. I like the flexibility and my treatments are always, truly individual, a complete reflection of what the client needs for their mind, body and spirit. When performing a facial, for example, I like to address the problem from the inside out using fusion therapies I’ve mastered over the years, so I won’t just work on the face. I’ve exhibited work as an artist in the past and in some ways view my treatments as blank canvasses. I like to be creative with them.”
